Lamps, posters and shelf objects from LitBuy sheets: plug types, box limits and what a room haul costs

Last updated .

Short answer: Room decor is bulky, so its cost to Germany often depends on box size rather than weight. We plan with an estimated 0.80 kg per item, but LitBuy divides length × width × height in cm by 8000 on most DHL lines, so a 35 × 25 × 25 cm lamp box bills as 2.73 kg. A lamp and a shelf object at ¥120 and ¥60 total about €73.53 on the 27 Oct 2026 weight maths.

Seven decor types and what each does to the parcel

Decor rows on a sheet look cheap, and that is the trap: a ¥40 poster set and a ¥120 lamp both hide the real cost in the box. The table below groups the types you meet most. Prices are example spans for planning, and weights are the estimated 0.80 kg per decor item from our assumptions list; we did not weigh any of them. CNY converts at LitBuy's displayed rate of ¥1 ≈ €0.158 (27 Oct 2026), which is higher than most bank rates.

Judge a decor row by its packed box in cm, not by the price on the sheet.

Size limits and volumetric weight: the lamp that bills as 2.73 kg

LitBuy's estimator showed these size limits on 27 October 2026: 60 × 50 × 40 cm on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE and 120 × 60 × 60 cm on SF-DHL-DE-1. DHL lines like these divide length × width × height in cm by 8000 to get volumetric weight (check the estimator for your line), and you pay whichever is greater, actual or volumetric. EMS-type lines divide by 6000.

  • Lamp box 35 × 25 × 25 cm: 21,875 ÷ 8000 = 2.73 kg (3.65 kg on a 6000 line).
  • Poster tube 60 × 8 × 8 cm: 3,840 ÷ 8000 = 0.48 kg, so weight rules, not volume.
  • Largest box on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, 60 × 50 × 40: 120,000 ÷ 8000 = 15 kg.

Above 2 kg, LitBuy's estimator is the only reliable source, because we only quote the three weight points 500 g, 1,000 g and 2,000 g. The landed price calculator follows the same bands.

Measure the box in cm before the weight, because volume sets the bill for lamps.

Lamps, plugs and batteries

Mains lamps from China are usually built for 220 V, which works in Germany, France and Austria at 230 V. The plug is the problem. Germany and France use round-pin sockets, the UK uses a three-pin square plug, and the US uses flat pins at 120 V, where a 220 V lamp should not be plugged in without a converter. Ask the seller for the plug type in the listing chat before you order.

LitBuy states that electronics function is not covered by QC. The restriction text also says batteries may be removed from parcels, so rows with a battery pack need support's written answer first. For gift lamps, fragrance rows face a similar ask-first rule.

Buy a mains lamp only when the plug is stated, and ask support before any battery.

Posters, frames and shelf objects

A rolled poster is the cheapest decor to ship, because a 60 cm tube sits at the edge of the economy line's limit and barely adds volumetric weight. Check the print size in cm and whether the poster ships rolled or folded. Framed prints and glass objects weigh more and break more, so ask for the corner padding in the QC photo.

In resin and ceramic shelf objects, glaze flaws show up in close photos. Ask for a close-up of the base and the rim. Fragile reinforcement and its price depend on the warehouse; LitBuy does not publish a decor-specific figure, so ask in chat before payment.

Rolled posters are the lightest decor; glass and frames need a padding photo.

A two-item room haul to Germany, worked out

Take a hypothetical ¥120 lamp and a ¥60 shelf object, both at the estimated 0.80 kg. All-in prices are LitBuy's LIT-Economy-DHL-DE totals from 27 October 2026 and include the ¥40 EU tariff prepayment.

Lamp plus shelf object, if billed on estimated weight

Lamp alone: ¥120 × 0.158 + €30.42 (1,000 g)€49.38

Object alone: ¥60 × 0.158 + €30.42€39.90

Two parcels, added up€89.28

Items together: ¥180 × 0.158€28.44

Shared parcel, est. 1.6 kg: 2,000 g band all-in€45.09

Total, one shared parcel€73.53

That is €15.75 less than two parcels, but the lamp box alone could bill at 2.73 kg, so the real total needs the estimator. In the UK, 1 kg cost £16.83 on FF-Royalmail-GB-1; in the US it was $41.17 on ZF-GOFO-US-1. A pre-packed rehearsal parcel, covered in the combine-parcels guide, shows the real packed weight.

The shared parcel saves €15.75 on weight maths, then volume decides the final bill.

Where decor tabs come from, and what else to add

Decor rows mostly sit in TikTok creator sheets and in general Beacons link pages. Add soft, flat items from light add-ons to pad glass, or look at women's rows for cushion and throw ideas. No LitBuy account? Our WhatsApp QR on the contact page takes a decor row and returns one delivered price, with photos before dispatch.

Check the listing on the item's LitBuy page with the QC photo guide in hand, and open the LitBuy spreadsheet library for the next category.

Seasonal decor behaves the same way, so check that the row still opens on LitBuy before you plan around it. A delisted item shows a notice that it has been removed from the shelves, and the dead-links guide explains how to find the same object again.

Pair decor with soft add-ons and measure the packed box before paying shipping.

FAQ

Will a lamp from a Chinese listing work in Germany?

Usually the voltage is fine, because mains power in China is 220 V and Germany uses 230 V. The plug is the catch: Chinese listings often show flat-pin plugs, while Germany and France use round-pin Schuko-type sockets. Read the listing for the plug, ask the seller to fit an EU plug, or plan on a plug adapter at home.

What is the biggest box LitBuy takes to Germany?

LitBuy's estimator on 27 October 2026 lists a size limit of 60 × 50 × 40 cm for LIT-Economy-DHL-DE and 120 × 60 × 60 cm for SF-DHL-DE-1. A poster tube of 60 cm just fits the first. Anything longer needs the second line, whose 1 kg all-in price to Germany was €31.61 against €30.42.

Why would a light lamp cost like a heavy parcel?

You pay for the greater of actual and volumetric weight. On most DHL lines volumetric weight is length × width × height in cm divided by 8000. A 35 × 25 × 25 cm lamp box gives 2.73 kg, even if the lamp weighs an estimated 0.80 kg. Lines using a 6000 divisor, such as EMS, bill that same box at 3.65 kg.

Can poster tubes go with other items in one parcel?

Yes, if the parcel stays inside the line's size limit and nothing crushes the tube. A 60 × 8 × 8 cm tube has a volumetric weight of only 0.48 kg, so it adds little to the bill. Keep it along the longest edge of the box and ask for a photo of the packed parcel before you pay shipping.

Does LitBuy QC test whether a lamp works?

No. LitBuy's help text says electronics function is not covered by its quality check. You get photos of the item, usually three to six, and can pay ¥1 per extra photo. Ask the seller in the listing chat about the bulb socket and plug first, and ask for a close-up of the cable and plug in QC.

Can I send a lamp with a built-in battery?

Ask LitBuy support first. The estimator's restriction text says batteries may be removed from parcels and that magnetic components are prohibited. A mains lamp with a separate bulb is the simpler row. For a night light or LED strip with a battery pack, wait for support to name a line in writing before ordering.
