Putting several LitBuy items into one parcel: weight bands, volumetric weight and the rehearsal option

Last updated .

Short answer: You can combine any items stored at LitBuy's warehouse into one parcel, and shipping is charged on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a shared parcel costs less per item. Four items est. 1.60 kg cost €45.09 together to Germany but €107.00 as four parcels (27 Oct 2026). Only one shipping coupon applies per parcel, and coupons cannot be stacked with other shipping discounts.

Why combining works and when it stops working

LitBuy stores your items after QC, free for 90 days per item (help centre, read 19 October 2026), and only ships when you submit a parcel. That gap lets you buy over several weeks and send everything together. The shipping price follows the parcel, not the item, so more items per parcel lower the cost per item. The saving stops when the box gets heavy enough to leave the cheap bands, or large enough that volumetric weight takes over. This page covers both, plus the rehearsal option. Light fillers such as socks or a cap are on the light add-ons page.

One parcel is cheaper per item until weight or box size takes over.

Weight bands to Germany

LitBuy's estimator quoted three weights on 27 October 2026. Between them, run the estimator with your real figure. The table shows the all-in euro price on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE, which includes the tariff prepayment, and the price per kilogram.

LIT-Economy-DHL-DE all-in price to Germany by weight (27 Oct 2026)
WeightAll-in pricePer kgTypical fill (estimated weights)
500 g€23.08€46.16Two tees, or a polo plus socks
1,000 g€30.42€30.42A hoodie plus a tee
2,000 g€45.09€22.55Jeans, hoodie and a cap

The jump from 500 g to 1,000 g costs €7.34 for another 500 g, and from 1,000 g to 2,000 g €14.67 for another kilogram. Filling a band is cheaper than starting the next one. The landed price calculator works this out for your list.

Fill the band you are in before you start another.

A four-item parcel against four parcels

Take four hypothetical items with estimated weights: a ¥120 hoodie (0.75 kg), ¥150 pants (0.60 kg), a ¥40 cap (0.15 kg) and ¥25 socks (0.10 kg). Items come to ¥335, or €52.93 at the ¥1 ≈ €0.158 rate LitBuy showed.

Worked example: four items in one parcel against four parcels to Germany

Items: ¥335 × 0.158€52.93

One parcel, est. 1.60 kg, 2,000 g band, all-in€45.09

Landed, one parcel€98.02

Four parcels: €30.42 + €30.42 + €23.08 + €23.08€107.00

Landed, four parcels (€52.93 + €107.00)€159.93

The shared parcel saves €61.91. The same items in two parcels, hoodie and pants together at 1.35 kg (2,000 g band) and the two small ones at 0.25 kg (500 g band), would need two fees, so merging everything wins here. Read the matching item pages, such as hoodies and pants, for typical weights.

Four items in one parcel saved €61.91 over four small ones.

Volumetric weight: when the box is bigger than the contents

Carriers charge the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in cm divided by a divisor. LitBuy's estimator showed 8000 on most DHL, GOFO and Royal Mail tax-free lines and 6000 on EMS, ETK, EUB, DPD GB and some USPS lines. LIT-Economy-DHL-DE also has a size limit of 60 × 50 × 40 cm. For a soft parcel the box matters as much as the scale.

Worked example: volumetric weight of a 40 × 30 × 20 cm parcel

Volume: 40 × 30 × 2024,000 cm³

Divided by 8000 (most tax-free lines)3.00 kg

Divided by 6000 (EMS-type lines)4.00 kg

Chargeable for 1.60 kg of contents on an 8000 line3.00 kg

A bulky puffer shows the same effect; the winter jackets page works it through. Above 2 kg, use the estimator for the exact figure.

Bulky and light can cost like heavy; a rehearsal parcel shows the packed size.

Coupons, rehearsal parcels and the 10 kg note

For the question "can you use multiple shipping discounts at once on LitBuy": no. LitBuy's interface says one shipping coupon applies per parcel, that coupons are tied to one account, and that shipping discounts and coupons cannot be combined. The 27 October 2026 banner for new sign-ups offered a 40% shipping coupon on part of the fee; for 1 kg to Germany the price fell from €24.11 to €18.25. A rehearsal parcel is a ¥20 pre-pack plus materials (about €3.16 before materials) that lets LitBuy pack and weigh before you pay shipping. It suits bulky mixes where a band edge is close.

A note on size: LitBuy's help says that above 10 kg a parcel is more likely to be seen as commercial. That describes how a parcel may be classified, nothing more; declare values truthfully and do not rearrange shipments around thresholds. The 2026 changes page lists the EU parcel charges, and the QC photos guide shows what to check before items go in the box.

One coupon per parcel; rehearse only when the box is uncertain.

Planning a parcel from your list

Add your rows to the haul list CSV, give each an estimated weight, and total them. Keep the sum just under a band edge if you can, with a light add-on to fill the remainder. Prefer a single quote with delivery inside it? Send the rows through the WhatsApp QR on the contact page; pictures come before dispatch and payment is per order. The first-order steps are in the seven-step guide.

Total the weights before you submit the parcel, not after.

FAQ

Is it cheaper to put all my LitBuy items in one parcel?

Usually yes, because each parcel carries a fixed part of the fee. LIT-Economy-DHL-DE showed €23.08 all-in for 500 g, €30.42 for 1 kg and €45.09 for 2 kg to Germany on 27 October 2026. Four items estimated at 1.60 kg cost €45.09 together, but €107.00 as four separate parcels. Light add-ons gain most.

What is volumetric weight and when does it matter?

It is a size-based weight: length × width × height in centimetres divided by 8000 on most DHL, GOFO and Royal Mail tax-free lines, or by 6000 on EMS, ETK, EUB, DPD GB and some USPS lines. You pay the greater of actual and volumetric weight. A 40 × 30 × 20 cm box counts as 3.00 kg at 8000, however light it is.

Can I use two shipping discounts or coupons on one LitBuy parcel?

No. LitBuy's interface says one shipping coupon applies per parcel, a coupon is tied to one account, and shipping discounts and coupons cannot be combined. The 40% new-user banner on 27 October 2026 covered only part of the fee: 1 kg to Germany fell from €24.11 to €18.25 before the tariff prepayment. Choose the better single offer.

What is a rehearsal parcel and is it worth ¥20?

It is a pre-pack where LitBuy packs your items so you can see the real weight before you pay shipping. The help centre (read 19 Oct 2026) lists ¥20 plus materials, about €3.16 before materials. It makes sense for a bulky mix, such as jackets, when the weight band or box size could change the price by a whole step.

Why does LitBuy mention parcels over 10 kg?

Per LitBuy's help, a parcel above 10 kg is likelier to be seen as commercial by customs. That is a classification risk, not a reason to rearrange a shipment, and LitBuy asks for truthful declared values. If a legitimate order is heavy, run the estimator for the real weight and check the line's size and weight limits.

What happens if the packed weight differs from my estimate?

You prepay shipping on the estimated weight. After packing, LitBuy recalculates on the chargeable weight, refunds an overpayment to your LitBuy account or asks you for the difference. Estimates are therefore safe to use, but a wrong guess near a band edge, such as 1.05 kg against 0.95 kg, moves the quote a step.
