Windbreakers weigh half a kilo, and that is the useful part
A windbreaker is the lightest jacket you will find in a LitBuy sheet: our planning estimate is 0.50 kg, against 1.20 kg for a regular jacket and 1.50 kg for a puffer. That puts one shell on the 500 g band, the cheapest tier in LitBuy's Germany table. The catch is that bulk can overrule weight, so we also look at box size below. Prices here are hypothetical examples, converted at LitBuy's display rate of ¥1 ≈ €0.158 (27 Oct 2026), a rate above typical bank rates.
| Type | Example price (hypothetical) | Est. weight | Check first |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nylon shell, hooded | ¥150 | 0.50 kg | Hood drawcord; water-resistant note |
| Half-zip anorak | ¥140 | 0.50 kg | Pocket on chest; neck height |
| Mesh-lined windbreaker | ¥160 | 0.50 kg | Lining coverage; zip puller |
| Fleece-lined shell (加绒) | ¥200 | 0.50 kg or more; may need the jackets band | Thickness; is it a winter jacket in disguise |
| Coach jacket | ¥130 | 0.50 kg | Snap buttons; collar shape |
| Track-style zip jacket | ¥120 | 0.50 kg | Ribbed cuffs; stripe or panel print |
| Reflective or colour-block shell | ¥170 | 0.50 kg | Panel colours in daylight photos |
"Row" means a single product line in a sheet. Weights come from the 27 October 2026 fact sheet and are estimates; we weighed nothing.
A shell sits in the lowest weight band; a fleece lining pushes it toward the jackets band.
Landed price for a shell, alone and with tees
LitBuy's estimator showed €23.08 all-in for 500 g to Germany on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE on 27 October 2026, which includes the EU tariff prepayment. The landed price calculator has the fee detail.
Worked example: a hypothetical ¥150 shell to Germany
Item: ¥150 × 0.158 (LitBuy's display rate)€23.70
Est. 0.50 kg, 500 g band: LIT-Economy-DHL-DE all-in€23.08
Shell alone, landed in Germany€46.78
Two ¥60 tees add 0.50 kg and move the parcel to the 1,000 g band at €73.08. Sent as three separate parcels, the same items would cost €111.90. A shell with a ¥180 pair of jeans (est. 1.20 kg together) falls in the 2,000 g band and comes to €97.23; the jeans page has that side of the maths.
UK and US lines on the same date: 500 g on FF-Royalmail-GB-1 was £11.06 and 500 g on ZF-GOFO-US-1 was $25.55. At ¥1 ≈ $0.177, the ¥150 shell would cost $26.55 plus the $25.55 line, or $52.10.
A shell on its own is fine for 500 g, but two tees beside it cost little extra.
Shell fabrics and linings in plain words
Many windbreaker rows use nylon (尼龙) or polyester (涤纶) with a tightly woven finish. The words to read are 防水 (water-resistant) and 加绒 (fleece-lined). Water-resistant usually means a coating, not a sealed seam, so expect a shower, not a storm. A mesh lining feels cooler and lighter than a fleece one, and half-lined rows (body only, not sleeves) also exist.
Look at these in the product photos before you commit:
- Zip: a metal or chunky plastic zip lasts longer than a thin coil.
- Hem and cuffs: elastic cuffs and drawcord hems keep wind out.
- Stitching at the shoulders: puckered seams show in side photos.
- Pocket depth: a shallow pocket in the size table is a size-dependent surprise.
Pick a woven shell with a zip you can see in a close-up photo.
Folded size matters: a quick volumetric check
LitBuy's DHL and GOFO tax-free lines divide length × width × height in cm by 8000 and charge the greater of actual and volumetric weight (estimator notes, 27 Oct 2026). A shell folded to 35 × 25 × 6 cm gives 0.656 kg, above its 0.50 kg estimated weight, so the 1,000 g band applies. Folded to 30 × 22 × 5 cm it is 0.412 kg and stays in the 500 g band. LitBuy does not publish how tightly it folds clothing, so these boxes are illustrations. If volume worries you, the winter jackets page shows a full box example for the heaviest outerwear.
A thin shell can still pay for a bigger box; the fold decides the band.
QC photos for a shell jacket
Routine photos are generally 3 to 6, and extra ones are ¥1 each. For a windbreaker, ask for the hood open and closed, the zip fully up and down, the inside lining and the cuff. LitBuy checks colour, size and visible damage, and its own list of what it does not cover includes colour difference and wear effect. The QC photos guide has a short measure list, and the QC finder shows where photos before purchase come from.
Hood, zip and lining photos catch most shell problems.
Filling the box around a shell
A shell leaves room under 1 kg for light rows, so the best companions are socks, caps and small add-ons and a few tees. If you want a warmer layer instead, the tracksuits page compares fleece sets. You can look for shells in LitBuy's Discord and in creator sheets. For the weight-band logic across a whole haul, read the combine-parcels guide. No LitBuy account? Send the row to us via the WhatsApp QR on the contact page: one delivered price, photos before dispatch, pay per order.
Timing is the other thing to plan. LIT-Economy-DHL-DE quotes 10 to 15 working days and LIT-Quickly-DHL-DE 8 to 13 working days (estimator, 27 Oct 2026), on top of the days the seller needs to reach LitBuy's Xiamen warehouse. Shells are a seasonal row, so check the lining against the weather where you live before you commit.
Fill the gap below 1 kg with tees, socks and a cap.
FAQ
How much does a windbreaker cost to ship to Germany?
Our planning weight is 0.50 kg, so a shell sits in the 500 g band: €23.08 all-in on LIT-Economy-DHL-DE on 27 October 2026, including the EU tariff prepayment. A hypothetical ¥150 shell adds €23.70 for the item, so about €46.78 lands at your door if shipped alone. The weight is an estimate, not a measurement.
Can a windbreaker be charged as heavier than it weighs?
Yes. LitBuy's DHL and GOFO tax-free lines divide length × width × height in cm by 8000 and charge the larger of actual and volumetric weight. A box of 35 × 25 × 6 cm gives about 0.66 kg, above a 0.50 kg shell. LitBuy does not publish how it folds jackets, so treat the box as variable.
What does 加绒 mean on a windbreaker listing?
加绒 means fleece-lined. A fleece-lined shell is warmer, thicker and heavier than a mesh-lined one, and may behave more like a light winter jacket than the 0.50 kg shell in our table. If the row uses it, plan for the jackets estimate of 1.20 kg or the 1,000 g to 2,000 g bands rather than the cheapest tier.
Is a windbreaker waterproof?
Usually not fully. Rows marked 防水 often mean a water-resistant coating, which handles a light shower, not a long storm with unsealed seams. LitBuy does not list water resistance among its checks. Read the seam photos and buyer reviews on the marketplace, and treat a shell as wind protection first and rain protection second.
Should I ship a windbreaker alone or with other items?
With other items, because it is light. The hypothetical ¥150 shell alone is €46.78 landed. With one ¥60 tee, the 0.75 kg parcel costs €63.60 against €46.78 plus €32.56 for two separate parcels. Sharing the parcel fee saves about €16, and a third light item saves more without leaving the 1 kg step.
Which QC photos matter for a shell jacket?
Ask for the hood open and closed, the zip fully up and down, the inside lining and the cuff, at ¥1 per custom photo. Routine QC is generally 3 to 6 photos. These shots show zip travel, lining coverage and stitching, which a front-and-back view cannot. LitBuy's checks cover size and colour but not wear effect.
