What the removed-from-the-shelves page means
LitBuy shows "The product has been removed from the shelves" when it cannot find a live listing for the ID in the link. Often the seller has delisted the item or run out of stock. Sometimes the link is built wrongly: the right ID with the wrong platform code leads to an empty page. A third case is a sheet row copied with a broken or half-pasted URL. The fix depends on which one you have, so test before you give up on the row. For a wider look at rows that suit a first check, see the nine-check guide.
A dead page is a symptom; run the tests to find the cause.
Four tests in order
- Force refresh. Press the button beside Copy link once.
- Read the code. In
litbuy.com/product/2/7778364946the 2 means Weidian. - Open the original. Use the seller's own page for the same ID.
- Rebuild. Paste the ID into the link converter.
Do them in that order. Force refresh is free and fixes stale pages. The code check catches typing or conversion mistakes. The original-page check gives the real answer about whether the seller still lists the item. Only after those do you go hunting for a replacement.
Three free tests come before any search for a lookalike.
Rebuilding a link from the item ID
The item ID is the real identifier in a sheet link; the rest is decoration. LitBuy's pattern is litbuy.com/product/code/item-id. The code and the matching marketplace page are in the table below.
| Platform | LitBuy code | Original page format | Where the ID sits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1688 | 0 | detail.1688.com/offer/ID.html | After offer/ |
| Taobao | 1 | item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=ID | After id= |
| Weidian | 2 | weidian.com/item.html?itemID=ID | After itemID= |
| JD | 3 | item.jd.com/ID.html | Before .html |
A sheet link can end in inviteCode=, ref= or affcode=; cutting those off leaves the link working. Searches for an "orginal link" or "produkt orginal link" come from people who want this step: the seller's own page for the same ID. Another agent's wrapper link works the same way, since the ID sits inside it. The agentlinks page shows how to pull an ID out of a multi-agent sheet.
Keep the ID, drop the rest, pick the right code.
When the original page is gone too
If the marketplace page also says the item is unavailable, the seller has delisted it. Do not keep retrying; the row is dead. Note the row in your list as dead, with the date, so you do not retest it next month. Then look for a replacement: the find-similar guide walks through image search, the store's other listings and comparing versions. A good habit is to save the item name and the main photo from the sheet before the row vanishes.
A dead original page ends the search for that ID, not for the product.
Is a replacement worth the swap?
A matching item from another seller is a new purchase and deserves a new check. Its price may differ even when the photo looks the same. The example uses hypothetical numbers.
Worked example: a delisted ¥110 tee against a ¥99 lookalike, to Germany
Delisted tee: ¥110 × 0.158 (LitBuy's display rate)€17.38
Lookalike tee: ¥99 × 0.158€15.64
Shipping alone at an estimated 0.25 kg, 500 g band, all-in (either tee)€23.08
Landed in Germany, lookalike tee€38.72
The saving is only €1.74, since shipping dominates, and the original would have cost €40.46. Cheaper is not better by itself: if the lookalike has fewer photos or no cm chart, the first is worth more. Rows from TikTok creator links can go stale, because a video outlives the listing it shows.
A small saving never justifies a worse listing.
Habits that keep a sheet alive
Keep a copy of the sheet's rows in your own file and add a "last checked" date. The spreadsheet template CSV has columns for that. Check rows in batches before you order, and drop the dead ones. If you have no account, the WhatsApp QR on the contact page lets you pass a row to us; the answer is one price with delivery in it, pictures taken before dispatch and billing per order. For a general overview of how sheets age, see the sheet directory.
Date every check, so a dead row is a one-line note, not a mystery.
FAQ
What does 'The product has been removed from the shelves' mean on LitBuy?
It means LitBuy could not load a live listing for that ID. Either the seller delisted or sold out the item, or the link was built with the wrong platform code. LitBuy shows the message on delisted product pages as of 27 October 2026. Check the code in the URL and press Force refresh before you assume the row is dead.
What does Force refresh do on a LitBuy product page?
The Force refresh button asks LitBuy to reload the listing from the seller instead of showing its stored copy. LitBuy's product page showed it next to Copy link on 27 October 2026. It helps when a price or style option looks stale, or after a short outage. It cannot revive an item the seller has really removed.
How do I rebuild a LitBuy link from an item ID?
The pattern is litbuy.com/product/code/item-id, with the code set to 0 (1688), 1 (Taobao), 2 (Weidian) or 3 (JD). We opened six Weidian rows built this way on 27 October 2026 and all showed prices. A wrong code gives a dead page for a live item, so try the other codes before giving up.
What do people mean when they search for an 'orginal link'?
They want the seller's own page for an item, on Taobao, Weidian, 1688 or JD, instead of an agent's wrapper. It is useful because the seller page shows whether the item is still listed. Open the marketplace URL with the same ID: item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=, weidian.com/item.html?itemID= or detail.1688.com/offer/ followed by the ID.
Why do sheets keep dead rows?
Sheets are copied and pasted, and the person who made one rarely rechecks every link. Sellers can delist for many reasons, so a row can die within weeks. A sheet that shows a date and a last-checked mark is better than one that does not. Treat any row older than a few months as a lead to retest.
Can I still buy a delisted item if I find it elsewhere?
Only through a live listing. If the same product appears under a different seller or a new ID, treat it as a new row and run every check again, since price, material and size chart may differ. LitBuy states that it cannot vouch for quality or authenticity on third-party platforms, so compare photos before you pay.
